Resort Review: Dreams Sapphire Resort & Spa, Cancun

Right before Christmas we decided to take a family getaway to Dreams Sapphire Resort & Spa in Cancun, Mexico. This was the first time since the pandemic started that we all took a flight together. It was also Valentina’s (our 2 year-old) first flight. Needless to say, we had a wonderful time and it was a much needed vacation, even abuela came along.

Cancun was also the perfect spot, just a 1 hour and 45 minute flight from Miami. Once we arrived at the airport, the resort was a quick 15 minute drive, making it ideal for traveling with kids or on weekend getaways. We also felt safe the entire time because of the whole wide-open spaces at the beach and pool, social distance friendly areas and sanitation throughout the resort.

All-inclusive resorts with lots of activities to do!
The Dreams Sapphire Resort & Spa is an all-inclusive resort, which I feel is great for families. They recently renovated the resort too. It’s right on Cancun’s oceanfront. We spent most of our days hopping from the beach to the pool. The room was very spacious and the suite also had a connecting room, which is perfect if you’re traveling with a larger group.

There were tons of activities to do and lots of great dining options that you pretty much never have to leave the resort. It has a total of 8 dinning options and 5 bars so everyone in the family will be satisfied with options including kid-friendly menus, buffets, international restaurants, grilled snacks and a cafĂ©. They all had high-chairs readily available too.

You do have to book tables for the a la carte restaurants, so it’s important you do that with time. I personally recommend doing it the first day you arrive.

It’s super kid-friendly and family-friendly

What I love the most about Dreams Resorts is that it’s super kid-friendly. There was never a shortage of things to do including a water park, a swimming/splash pool area, miniature golf, kayaking, sailing, paddle boarding (all complimentary by the way). They even have the Explorer’s Club for kids. Every night there was also a show at 8:30pm, this was my mom’s favorite part. From fire dancing to acrobatics. My mom even joined the pool Zumba classes.

Dreams Resorts also have some really great deals going on right now including complimentary kids stay at family-friendly brands for up to two children (Dreams, Now and Sunscape) and 40% off your next family getaway. You can head on over to dreamsresorts.com to check it out.

Overall, we had the best time and can’t wait to go back. Best of all, we were able to spend some nice quality time together and create new memories as a family, which at the end of the day that’s what vacations are all about.
