My Stay at The Perry Hotel Key West on Stock Island

One of my favorite places to recharge is Key West, mainly because it is just a short 3 1/2 hour drive from Miami (but it feels like you're somewhere completely different). So last month, while I was searching for places to stay I came across The Perry Hotel. It's a boutique hotel located on Stock Island tucked between Shrimp Road and the Stock Island Marina.

It's a cool hotel, perfect if you're looking for a place to stay away from the hustle and bustle of Key West, but still close enough where you can take a quick 10-minute drive across the bridge to Old Town Key West.

The hotel itself is gorgeous and not to mention the decor looks like something off the pages of a West Elm catalog (right up my alley). I literally want to recreate their lobby for my own living room. As soon as I arrived the staff was super welcoming and greeted us with a glass of champagne.

The rooms were spacious, extremely clean (the hotel is just a year old) and again, I loved the modern and industrial decor. It was really nice to just sit back, relax and spend some time on the balcony overlooking the mangroves. As you can see, my 5-year old really enjoyed it too.

The hotel also boasts two restaurants, an oyster bar called the 'Salty Oyster' and Matt's Stock Island Kitchen & Bar featuring American Coastal Comfort Food. I had breakfast there every day and it was SO good. I loved their steel cut oatmeal and Huevos Rancheros. The portions are very hearty and reasonably priced.  Also, one of my favorite dishes at the Salty Oyster were the Peel-and-Eat Shrimp and the fish dip.

They also have the cutest Dominoes table in their lobby. After a day of exploring Old Town Key West, it was nice to spend an afternoon playing a game with my mom and Andy before heading to the pool and then relaxing by the fire pit at night.

The hotel also offers several activities. Charter boats leave from the resort's pier where you can take everything from snorkeling trips, sunset cruises or dolphins sighting excursions. One of the many highlights from my stay was the Dolphin excursion we took that was booked through the hotel. It was so amazing to see dolphins swimming in their natural habitat (we saw about 10 of them!)

The takeaway here is calming, relaxing and energizing. Just what your soul needs from time to time. I can't wait to be back soon and make more memories with Andy.

Thank you The Perry Hotel for hosting my stay. I can't wait to be back!
