Beauty: 3 Tips to Add Life To Your Dull Hair
Let's face it, from trips to the beach and countless hours spent in the sun, summertime can easily wreak havoc on our hair. The other day, while I was getting a blow dry (which sometimes seems pointless with the humidity in Miami haha) I got some great tips from my hair dresser on how to add life to dull hair. Here are some tips I picked up along the way for restoring your healthy locks.
Tip #1 Treat Your Locks- The summer heat can easily dry your hair, so make sure you add a hydrating regimen at least once a week. I like to go the natural route and opt for my own DIY hair mask using avocado. You can also use mayonnaise or coconut oil and leave it on your hair for 30 minutes before washing off.
Tip #2- It all starts with a good shampoo and conditioner. Look for a shampoo and conditioner with nourishing benefits. I started using Garnier Whole Blends Refreshing Shampoo and Conditioner (with Green Apple and Green Tea extracts). Not only does it help revitalize your hair, but it also boosts shine. My hair is left feeling super soft and looking healthy (as oppose to a brillo pad lol). I then finish up my look by adding some loose waves with a curling iron.
Tip #3- Trim Your Ends- An easy way to give your hair some instant life from root to tip is to trim your ends every 2 to 3 months. This helps in removing split ends and can even make your hair look healthier and shinier.
