Spring cleaning on your mind? It's only a few months away and one thing I struggle with the most is keeping my drawers organized. I'll fold my clothes nice and neat, but then when I'm rushing to find something, I just end up messing everything up (just take a look at my drawer below haha).
So I decided to give the KonMari Method a try. By now you've probably already heard of Marie Kondo's book, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up. She's a Japanese organizing expert and her book has been all the buzz. I haven't had a chance to read it, but I have seen some YouTube videos, including one that talked about how to fold your clothes using her method.
All it is, is basically rolling your clothes and storing it vertically, instead of folding it in a "squarish" shape and stacking it (like I've been doing for years). It sounds like such a no-brainer, but I had never thought of it before. This simple change has made a world of a difference.
When your clothes are rolled and stored vertically, you can see where everything is at a glance. It makes finding thing SO much easier. And hence, your drawers stay tidy. I even started organizing my son's drawers this way.
Here's what it looks like when it's all done. I can't recommend it enough.
What do you think? Have you tried her organizing methods?
Great tip! Does it work for shirts too?
ReplyDeleteYep, it works for shirts too. I believe there's several videos on Youtube that show you how to do it.
