Video: What to Wear to Minimize Your Tummy

Yesterday I was on Univision's Despierta America sharing tips on how to minimize your belly. Let's face it, sometimes as much as we work out, getting rid of that little "pouch" can be soooo hard! Luckily, with a few style tips you can easily minimize it. Here are some of my favorite tips to help you hide those trouble spots.

Head to Toe Look from New York & Co.

For Work:
I love pencil skirts for work. The key is to look for one with a high waist so it helps flatten your tummy, like this one from New York & Co. We paired it with a dark solid blouse, which as we all know, darker colors are always more slimming.

Quick Tip: By wearing your jacket/blazer open you help create a vertical column, which can make you look leaner and slimmer. It's all about the illusion. Don't forget to show off your best features. So if your tummy is your problem area, why not show off your amazing legs?

Casual Look:
Wearing things that are too tight is a big DON'T when you are trying to hide your belly. In this case we decided to opt for a tunic, which skims the stomach area and doesn't hug and tug at your belly. You also don't want to go too voluminous, which can also make you look bigger than what you really are.

This blouse from the Eva Mendes for New York & Co. line is perfect. I love everything about her line, it's feminine and chic and she definitely keeps in mind the Latina curves. The dark wash jeans also help minimize your thighs and can make you look slimmer.

Night Out

Empire waist dresses are perfect for minimizing your stomach. It cinches right below your bust, highlighting the smallest part of your torso. The deep V-Neck also helps to elongate your neck. We paired this dress with some black heels to add some height and you're ready for a night out in the town.
