Happy Friday guys! This past weekend we celebrated Andy's 1st Birthday! We decided on a Jake and the Neverland Pirates themed. As you probably know by now, I'm all about themed parties (here are some pictures from my Little Man themed baby shower). They're just so much fun to plan in my opinion.
We originally had planned to do the party at a park, but it ended up raining that day (thanks Miami weather!) We had to come up with a Plan B quickly, so we ended hosting it at our house. Everything turned out exactly how we had imagined. We got to spend the day with our family and best of all, celebrate our first year as parents (we survived!!)
Here are some pictures from the party, along with some tips for hosting your own pirate themed party.
PS. I also created food labels you can download for FREE!
For the decor, we found everything at Party City. They had everything from plates, cups, party favors and pirate hats that were Jake and the Neverland Pirates themed, so it just made everything so much easier to plan. I also made these food labels myself.
(If you're looking for Jake food labels for your own pirate themed party, feel free to shoot me an email and I can send you a link to where you can download them--carmen@vivafashionblog.com)
For the food, we wanted to do something fun and different (and have food that we knew kids would LOVE). So we had Ms. Cheezious, a food truck in Miami, cater Andy's birthday party. All the kids (and parents-alike) got so excited when they arrived at our doorsteps. They have some uh-mazing grilled cheese sandwiches and were also named The Best Food Truck in Miami! The guys were also so nice and super rad!
Here's a picture of his cake, which was also Jake and the Neverland Pirates themed. We ordered it from Ana Paz Cakes and it was absolutely delicious!
Here's the invitation I made myself using brown paper bags from Whole Foods and a lighter to burn the edges.
Hope you have a great weekend!
xx,
Carmen
