Last week during a photo shoot a makeup artist introduced me to this Smashbox Camera Ready BB cream. I had heard the name before, but really wasn't sure what it was. So for those of you on the same boat, BB creams (also know as Blemish Balm) is basically a five-in-one product. Think of it as a tinted moisturizer on steroids. It's a moisturizer, SPF, it primes, perfects skin, and conceals. After I left the photo shoot, I went ahead and bought it and I've been hooked ever since. For those of you in a rush in the morning, this product is great. Lately I've been skipping my foundation and pressed powder and just using the BB Cream. It's also said that it helps with wrinkles and makes the skin look more smooth--double score.
It's been all the buzz in the U.S. in the past couple of months (other brands like Estee Lauder, Garnier, and L'Oreal recently came out with BB Creams). But it really got its start in Asia several years ago, when it was used by actresses. Anywho, so on to my review of this Smashbox BB Cream. Like I said, it has become my go-to product. It goes on very light and doesn't feel heavy. I also have oily skin and I find that it works perfectly to control the oil. You do have to make sure however that you apply it evenly, so you don't have any patches. It comes in shades Fair, Light, Light/Medium, Medium and Dark. I sometimes apply my powder over the BB Cream, but for the most part you can do without, since the coverage is really good.
Here's a before and after. As you can see I have those annoying pimple dark spots, but with the BB Cream they nearly fade away. I retails for $39. Have you tried any other BB Creams before?
Looking forward to trying this. Thanks for the recommendation!
