VF at the White House

So as you might have read....yesterday I visited the White House for a briefing on issues affecting the Hispanic community. It was such an amazing experience and one I will never forget. I was part of a group of 70 Latina bloggers that was invited and what I loved the most was meeting other Latinas, ALL with dreams, ALL so powerful and inspiring. Each with their own amazing story to tell. We got to meet with the Chief of Staff for the Department of Education, The Associate Director for the White House Initiatives and the Special Assistant to the President among others. I took some inspiration in my outfit from something I had seen First Lady Michelle Obama wear and went with a classic sheath dress. I also paired it up with a black cardigan (ala Michelle Obama lol) and black pumps. Best of all, my entire outfit head-to-toe was under $100. I scored this Calvin Klein dress from T.J. Maxx for just $49 and the shoes are from Jessica Simpson from Marshall's for under $50 bucks. You know I had to bring some budget fashion to the White House...ha!
