Spring Nail Polish Trend: Putty

Putty, Taupe, whatever you call it....this mushroom-esque color is all the buzz this Spring. The trend really started on the runway of the Chanel S/S 10 fashion show, in particular with the Chanel Le Vernis nail polish. It's brown with a hint of grey and sometimes even a purplish undertone. I went on the hunt to find a similar hue and landed this one from Rimmel Lasting Finish Pro called "Steel Grey." It's definitely a bit more on the brown side than grey in my opinion, which is exactly what I was looking for. Although this picture makes it look purple. I also love the wide brush that it comes with. I got it at my local CVS store for only $3.99. I just tried it on yesterday, so I'll keep you posted on how long it lasts. Here are some other colors you might want to check out:

OPI, You Don't Know Jacques, $8 (My friend has this one and it's a bit on the grey side)
Chanel, Le Vernis Nail Color, $23
OPI, Over the Taupe, $5.23
RGB, Toast, $14

Tip: If you have pale skin you might want to opt for a color in a lighter hue
