Jewelry from Recycled Glass and Plates

They say that one mans trash is another mans treasure. In this case, it's another woman's jewelry. I recently came across a jewelry designer named Laura Bergman that creates one-of-a-kind pieces from recycled glass, bottles and even plates found in bottle dumps. She would spend hours poking through dumps scattered throughout the natural wooded farmlands where she lives and noticed how collectors would take the valuable whole bottles but leave behind the broken glass. At one point she even saw a baby deer and other animals laying on the broken glass. That's when she decided to pick up the pieces and turn them into jewelry. Each piece comes with "The Story of the Glass," which tells you what each piece was originally. For example these earrings use to be a 1960's Blue Willow Dinner Plate. This one here is made out of a 1940's Ruby Beer Bottles $45
