While it is common knowledge among both celebrity fans and jewelry fans how much a celeb can love their jewelry collection, we are still surprised at the vast collections and pieces owned by many of our favorite stars. Movie, music, and fashion icon Jennifer Lopez recently acquired over $50,000 in diamond pieces originally loaned to her to wear to the launch party of a new clothing line at Barney’s in Beverly Hills, California.Though she received a bit of flack for presumptively telling the jewelry’s owner, Robert Mouawad, that she intended to keep the pieces, Mouawad insists that there was no ill will and that the exchange was entirely worth the endorsement of Mrs. Lopez. Mouawad is a Swiss billionaire, famous to many for purchasing the flawless sixty carat Mondera Diamond for the sum of fifty million dollars. He insists that the decision to allow Lopez to keep the diamonds was mutual and not based on a demand from Lopez. Jennifer Lopez has long been associated with the jewelry that she loves so much, taking part in a number of launch parties for diamond jewelry lines over the past few years.
She was also a part of the 2007 launch of Lorraine Schwartz’s Diamond Monkeys collection. Mrs. Lopez has associated herself with many of the jewelry industry’s finest diamond designers. No stranger to beautiful jewels, Jennifer Lopez can always be seen sporting beautiful diamond pieces at launches and other events. Photographers always scramble to get a view of what pieces Lopez is sporting at red carpet events as well.
